What makes an electronic signature legally binding?

According to the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (E-Sign act) of 2000 documents signed and transmitted electronically are recognized as legal digital signatures if they meet these criteria:

An electronic sound, symbol or process. The user signs each section with a mouse click, the mouse click meets the process criteria.
It must be attached to a contract or other record. We attach the signer's name and date signed to each document and store this information online in a secure digital file.
It must be adopted by a person with an interest in signing. Each signer must agree to this process before signing.

Can the documents be changed after they are signed?

No. Don't let others fool you; our technology is much more than a digital signature. It is a comprehensive online signing process which includes our Document Integrity Verification System™. Will I have to print copies after they are signed?

No. We store the original signed document on a secure server. You will always have access to the document in its original state. This makes it easy for you to prove what someone signed if it is ever contested. You'll be saving money, processing time, and storage space.

What type of documents are available through eSigTek?

We can convert any paper document you currently use into our online fillable format. Each customer gets custom solutions to their documents provided you can send them to us in an electronic form (word doc, or PDF). We will not accept scanned documents. The only limitation currently is that documents can only be sent to and signed by ONE user. Documents requiring multiple people or witnesses to sign cannot be converted at this point. We will announce through our mailing list when this service is available.

Has an electronically signed document ever been disputed in court?

No. Since electronic signature technology was introduced in 2000, not one digital signature has been contested.

How long will it take to begin sending documents through eSigTek?

Depending on the number of documents and their complexity anywhere from 1-3 weeks from the date your documents are sent to us. Once your account is created you will be able to send documents and users will receive them in seconds. You will receive instant notification when the documents are signed.

Will I have to install software to use eSigTek's service?

No. Our service is conducted completely through the web. You will need internet access and a current web browser. You can request a demo and we will walk you through the process.

What are the advantages of electronic signatures?
